Welcome to the Payne Stewart Memorial Fantasy Golf Website. This league was founded in 1998 by two good friends, John "Buster" Hyman and Troy "Mess" Reber as a means of fun and fellowship. With a large group of friends who all share a love of this great game, and a great time, it didn't take long to assemble 10 willing participants. After the tragic death of Payne Stewart in the fall of 1999, we decided to pay tribute to him by re-naming our league in his honor. Payne was a great golfer and a great man, who also shared a love of the game, and a great time. This league is dedicated to his memory.

 

One day in February of 2001, I received an e-mail from a fellow in Australia named Kevin.  He had been surfing the internet for golf sites, and somehow stumbled upon us! Being a golf fanatic like myself, Kevin was very interested in our league, and wanted to start one of his own.  As news spread here in the states, the fellows were very excited to have a "sister" league on the other side of the world.  We soon found that we had a lot in common with these blokes. The love of golf, and the love of a good time being at the top of the list.  Nicknames were explained, many humors exchanged, and in no time at all their league was up and running with a group of crazy, excited "mates". 

 

Shortly after the Aussie league began, Kevin (Judge Smails) and I formulated the Fantasy Presidents Cup competition.  What a riot this turned out to be!  E-mails were flying around from one side of the world to the other, with boastings and predictions from all the participants.  The competition has given us all another avenue of Fantasy Golf to enjoy, and created a foundation for long distance friendships.
